MedThink commissioned a survey of 105 current or past members of advisory boards, pharmaceutical company speakers bureaus, clinical trial investigators, thought leaders, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and other healthcare professionals. * The respondents represented 7 different therapeutic specialties.
Summary of key findings:

89% showed interest in participating in a virtual collaboration tool

60% would like opportunities to communicate with a company between in-person meetings

74% cited that healthcare companies are not or are only partially providing them with the means to provide expert advice outside of in-person meetings and teleconferences

52% would participate as often as needed using a virtual environment to allow for more communication

74% would view a pharmaceutical company more positively if the company incorporated a virtual tool into their existing approach to collaboration
Additional findings:
- 70% are interested in the ability to respond to, improve, or modify an existing document
- 80% are interested in the ability to query a company's clinical trial database to access existing data to advance the science
- 85% are interested in an online resource library
- 72% are interested in the ability to coordinate all logistics, materials, and other information related to participation in media relations activities
